They are just like wow, and when they saw the other lake then are like wow..wow. what a level of excitement was at that time. Btw, I am also going on this trek in mid-august, super excited for this ❤. Trekking is Love ❤.

KGL is over-crowded now. It's great to see these pictures with only a few trekkers amidst the tranquility.

Anybody else found the statistics "70-75% of our trekkers are beginners" quite alarming? 😅😅😅

I've done quite a few treks including the KGL trek but trust me when i say this, nothing comes close to the beauty of KGL especially when you see both the lakes from Gadsar pass!

Sure Kashmir has changed for good...and could sense the positivity in atmosphere when interacting with locals on Tarsar Marsar trek. Just a short incident that happened at Base camp....I said Namaste to a village elder the local guide interjected that the norm is Salam....but the elder smile and said Namaste.

This is amazing, I have done treks with IH in 2012, 2013 and 2014 none of such processes were there at that time. Knowing about all these safety measures is really helpful. Looking forward to go for a trek soon.

I went to KGL, and trust me, you still don't have anything for safety. Your trek leader and guides were both useless.

I am happy to see that you have explored this region and are trying to bring more tourists and trekkers here. I am just worried and concerned about the influx of the trekkers here in such a fragile ecosystem. I have unexplored regions getting polluted only because of the huge influx of trekkers and tourists. While we promote tourism we should also promote the sustainability of it which unfortunately every trekking organisation lacks. I have been witnessing the same thing in other parts of the KISHTWAR region where people are happy that trekkers and tourists are coming but they have no system to dispose off the wastage . Places like Sinthan pass is polluted with Plastic and other stuff. While you promote trekking,I would like to suggest that please focus on conservation part more than the exploration part, because we are more focused on exploring rather than conservation.

Possible in Nov and December

These Meadows or alpine pastures are known as Dhoks. U r confusing Tahrrah (kaccha Huts) with dhoks. ........The Huts are known as Tahrrah not dhoks... Dhoks are pastures/meadows for animal grazing.. Hope this clears the confusion between Dhoks and Tahrah......

Great information! One correction I would like to make is not to wear cotton as the gentleman recommends. Cotton which is made of cotton fibers absorbs moisture, so it can keep you feeling sweaty in hot temps and chill you if things turn cold and wet. Instead wear natural or synthetic fibers with moisture-wicking properties like polyester, nylon, spandex, merino wool, etc which move sweat off the skin and dry fast.

I have a doubt, whether NH150 is a proper shoe for beginner ?
